Head Coach • Varsity

Tom Hurley

For Tom Hurley, Christ Prep Football has never been about wins and losses. It is about ministry. After 18 years of coaching, including 10 years as the varsity head coach, he uses football as a tool to teach faith, discipline, and leadership. His goal is to help shape young men into godly leaders.

Coach Hurley was drawn to coaching because of the lasting influence of his own high school coach, Laird Crump, who modeled truth and lived out the gospel during a formative season of his life. Years later, Hurley wanted his own sons and other young men to experience that same kind of godly mentorship.

At home, Tom and his wife Heidi have been married for 36 years and are blessed with nine children, ranging in age from 15 to 33, and eight grandchildren. As he often says, God has blessed them beyond measure.

Chris Jones

If Coach Chris had to name a signature play call, it would be "Steamroller"—and it fits. Relentless, powerful, and focused, he brings 15 years of intensity to the Christ Prep sideline. A former Patriot himself, he came back because his coaches shaped him. Now he's paying it forward...

Josh Baker

Former Christ Prep team captain and Offensive MVP, now entering his fifth season on staff. "This program shaped my faith and character—it's a privilege to give back."

WR/DB Coach

Tyrone Parrish

12 years with Christ Prep. Known as "Coach P." Brings wisdom, discipline, and a playful spirit to the sidelines.

DL Coach

Michael Traw

3rd year DL Coach, previous JH Defensive Coordinator, and team photographer since 2015 when his oldest son, Jesse started playing. His youngest, Timrek is a freshman on the team this year.

OL Coach

Josh Burton

11th season. Son of Christ Prep founder Coach Dick Burton. Grew up in the program—water boy, player, now coach.

RB Coach

John Regan

2nd season. Former youth pastor who sees coaching as ministry. "With football, I get ten hours a week with these young men."

JV Staff

The proving ground. JV is where potential meets preparation—where young players learn the system and earn their reps.

JV Head Coach

Steve Stone

7th season. Started as JH D-Line coach, then JH Head Coach, now leads JV. Works as an IT Manager.

JV Coach

Jason Bolton

2nd year on staff. Works as a Spanish medical interpreter at Children's Mercy Hospital.

Junior High Staff

This is where it starts. These coaches introduce young men to the brotherhood, the discipline, and the standard. By the time they reach varsity, they'll know what it means to be a Patriot.

JH Head Coach

Ewan Cornstubble

7 years with Christ Prep. Coaches nearly every position—QB, O-line, RB, LB, DB. Works as a Senior IT Support Technician.

JH Defensive Coordinator

Grant Stamatis

Former player turned coach, now in his 3rd year. Works as an electrical engineer. Has climbed all 58 of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks.

JH Assistant Coach

Ezekiel Stone

First year on staff, but 8 years in the program as a player. Works in utility maintenance for the City of Olathe.

JH WR Coach

Seth Nield

First year coaching. Former player shaped by Christ Prep's discipline and purpose. Works in financial services.
