Our Program
The Christ Prep Patriots provide football opportunities for young men in grades 7–12 from homeschool and Christian schools across the Kansas City area. More than a team, Christ Prep Football is a brotherhood rooted in faith, character, and purpose. We are a football ministry focused on Christ-honoring discipleship, using the game to develop young men spiritually, mentally, and physically. Guided by our motto, "Building Godly Men For The Next Generation," our goal is for every player to leave prepared to make a difference.
Head Coach Tom Hurley
Coach Tom Hurley believes Patriots Football uniquely builds character through the physical and mental challenges of America's greatest sport. Influenced by his own high school coach, he approaches the game as a powerful tool for teaching faith, excellence, and commitment.
Since becoming head coach in 2016, Hurley has been part of building Christ Prep into a nationally recognized program through the collective effort of dedicated players, coaches, families, and supporters. The Patriots now regularly compete for national championships and have earned three titles in 2018, 2019, and 2025. Hurley remains deeply committed to developing young men whose character off the field is as strong as their performance on it, and whose faith in Christ shapes everything they do.
Meet the CoachesHelmet Safety & Performance
The Christ Prep Patriots prioritize player safety through the use of advanced helmet technology. In 2025, the program began adopting Riddell Axiom helmets, now worn by approximately 90% of varsity players, with the remainder transitioning soon. All players are equipped with Riddell InSite® Smart Helmet Technology, allowing staff to monitor head impacts and make informed decisions that support player health. This commitment reflects our responsibility to care well for the young men entrusted to us.

Patriot Pledge
Heavenly Father, We bring our team before you in this football endeavor. Our desire, is to play for You, and honor You. We pledge that, come what may, we resolve, to bring our best effort, on every play, and leave the results to you. We also pledge, that we do not play for ourselves, but for these brothers, standing next to us. Take our labor, multiply it, unite us, make us strong and give us Victory!
Daily Commitment
This is the beginning of a new day. God has given me this day, and I can waste it—or use it for His glory. What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place something I have traded for it. I want it to be gain, not loss; good, not evil; success, not failure; in order that I shall not regret the price I paid for it, because the future is just a string of nows, and so is my eternity.
More Than Football
Christ Prep Football is built on something deeper than wins and losses, strategy, or schemes. Our coaches don't just coach football—they invest in young men, building trust, modeling discipline, and challenging them to pursue what God has called them to become.
And there is real joy here. The locker room and the field are filled with laughter, shared moments, and genuine connection. Teammates push one another with encouragement, and when things get tough, they come together. The friendships formed here don't end with football—they last well beyond the field.
A Platform for Something Bigger
At Christ Prep, football is a platform for something bigger—building godly men for the next generation. Our coaching staff is committed to using the game to shape hearts, habits, and leadership, partnering with families, churches, youth groups, and homeschool communities in a shared mission.
This program is about four years of intentional growth. Young men learn to lead, to sacrifice, to serve others, and to push beyond limits they didn't know they had. They learn to challenge one another and to be challenged—and they grow through it together. That's why this program works. Many come for the football, but they stay for the culture, the brotherhood, and the lasting impact that continues long after the pads come off.
